The progressive media swears they’re honest. According to them, it’s just a strange, inexplicable peculiarity of destiny when conservatives continuously get the dagger and liberals are often sheltered, propped up, and protected. However, they’re adamant:” There is no media partiality”!

Big schools agree:
The mainstream media, too, is open to some bias, which can be expressed in the form of institutional racism, prejudice in the workplace, or other theories about the Patriarchy enslaving girls and minorities.
But congratulations to New York Magazine for taking the valiant, advanced stance that, cool, media bias might occur… but it’s too pro-Republican: The Media’s Double Standard Favors Trump, No Harris.
Evidently, then, the only viable option is for the advertising to be even MORE anti-Trump!

However, the 2024 head for leftwing bias and political reporting was poll Ann Selzer, the mind of Selzer &, Co. of West Des Moines.
Donald Trump lost the ruby-red position he had previously won in 2016 and 2020, according to Selzer’s acclaimed Iowa poll released in the last time of the presidential election. According to Selzer, Harris was now beating Trump 47 % to 44 %.
It was a revelation report. And the media could n’t get enough:
Politico, Axios, Fox, Roll Call, and more every called Selzer’s Iowa surveys the “gold standard” in voting. Because Kamala Harris only received 42.5 % of the vote on Election Day, I suppose gold is n’t as valuable as it once was.
Ann Selzer’s “gold standard” Iowa ballot was down by a staggering 16 items!
In the poll job, there’s just no excuse for blowing a ballot by 16 points— particularly in a position where you’ve been a poll since 1997. That’s nearly 30 years of experience in a small, mostly homogeneous state.
Today, Ann Selzer announced her retirement from election polling.
Would it have been nice if the final poll had been in line with the results of the election day? Of course. It’s ironic that it’s just the opposite. I’m proud of the work I’ve done for the Register, the Detroit Free Press, the Indianapolis Star, Bloomberg News, and other governmental and private organizations involved in elections. They liked my work and were excellent clients. ]emphasis added]

Three quick hits:
One, her final poll was n’t “ironic” at all. There’s no irony in blowing a predictive poll by 16 points. Selzer is in the prediction business, and she screwed up the prediction. That’s on you, not the mysterious forces of irony.
Two, I’m VERY sure those media outlets were all “great clients” and happy with her work. After all, she gave them exactly what they desired.  ,
Three, here are the two most likely reasons why an experienced “gold standard” pollster would miss an election — in her own hometown! — by 16 points: Accidental incompetence, or deliberate corruption.
Accidental incompetence is certainly a possibility. Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Obviously, if you’re consistently botching polls by 16 points, you’re probably not a very good pollster, but as a one-off, anyone could have a bad day. Maybe that’s all that happened.
But after choking on the thick cloud of leftwing lies and media bias, I’d be dishonest if I did n’t acknowledge the possibility of deliberate, intentional corruption.
For eight long years, the liberal political-media cabal has been calling Trump a Nazi. He was labelled a wannabe fascist and a threat to democracy by the media. And then, in the closing days of a tightly contested presidential race, Iowa’s “gold standard” pollster releases a poll that was wholly disconnected from reality? !

Sorry, but that sounds like something that was meant to stifle liberal voter anticipation and reduce Republican turnout.  ,
Selzer claimed in her resignation column that she had already told the Des Moines Register that she would not be renewing her 2024 contract before the results of her most recent poll were made public. What did Selzer have to lose by trying to manipulate the outcome by putting her finger on the scale and trying to manipulate the outcome if she knew she was going to quit?
It’s worth noting that Selzer’s last eight Iowa polls ALL exaggerated the Democrat’s strength and downplayed the Republican’s.
Either way, Ann Selzer has left the building.
It’s unusual to screw up so badly that you have to look down on your job. Hopefully, the next pollster will be more accurate ( and/or honest ).
