In 1956, a group of seven women, including Marian Leonard Tompson, formed La Leche League International ( LLLI). The group’s purpose was” to help mothers worldwide to drink through mother-to-mother support, motivation, information, and training, and to encourage a better knowledge of feeding as an important factor in the healthy development of the baby and mother”.  ,

Well, let’s just say things have changed a little bit since then, especially the “mother-to-mother” part, and Tompson and other members of LLLI leadership are n’t having it. The 94-year-old, who now sits on the firm’s board of directors, announced earlier this month that she was resigning from the job that she has poured her heart and soul into for most of her career. The purpose? Breastfeeding people.  ,
In a text to the business, she says it has become a” tragedy of my original purpose”.  , She added:  ,
LLL’s concentrate has delicately changed from an organization with the mission to support biological women who want their babies to get the best start in life by breastfeeding them. Despite no thorough analysis of female lactation and how it might affect the baby, the focus has gently changed.
This transition from following the standards of Character, which is the core of rearing through feeding, to indulging the thoughts of adults, is destroying our business.
Despite my efforts as a Board member over the past two years, it has become clear that staying involved wo n’t help me change this trajectory.
When La Leche League returns to its original Mission and Purpose, I leave the door open for return.
Tompson was n’t alone. Miriam Main, a British lactation advocate and director of the Great Britain unit of the organization, even turned in her departure. In a guest post on writer Milli Hill’s Substack, Main explained why, claiming it all started with changes in language, like replacing “mother” with “parent” and “breastfeed” with” chestfeed”. She continued,” Officials who expressed fears about language quality, such as for people whose English is not their first language, were mocked and abused,” she continued. She added:  ,

We were informed that transgender men who wanted to drink at our discussions would have to be accepted as an inclusive organization. Therefore, legitimate concerns about securing issues started to emerge. For instance, a woman’s natural security while a man breastfeeds her child, a mother’s social and biological safety when she is separated from her child while a man is present, and the need for privacy for women with particular religious beliefs. In raising like issues, we were told we were misogynistic, and we were compared to whites and Nazis- by different Frontrunners!
In the end, Main came to the conclusion that” the LLLI Board has demonstrated that philosophical man nursing exceeds the needs of female lactators.”  ,
A quick visit to the LLLI site proves Main’s level. The opening statement on the blog reads,” Breastfeeding is comfort, diet, and like all rolled into one. Since 1956, we have been helping parents and medical parents. If you need assistance with feeding, chestfeeding or feeding your kid people milk, the LLLI website has plenty to help you”!  ,
According to the Catholic News Agency, “LGBT activists have argued that men who believe they are people can breastfeed their children by using nipple stimulation and synthetic hormones to induce breastfeeding.” However, as Main mentioned, when leadership dared to question the psychological impact of this, they were called” Nazis” or” transphobic”.  ,

According to the Pew Research Center, 80 % of democrats believe that science is their main source of information on what is right and wrong. However, based on what is happening at the LLLI and elsewhere in the world, it seems like some have abandoned the facts in favor of a dream world that will be devastating for generations to come.  ,  ,
