After the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) was recently exposed for allegedly ordering hurricane relief workers to avoid Donald Trump’s supporters ‘ homes, Florida has filed a lawsuit against the agency.
In a press release from the day of the petition, Florida’s attorney public Ashley Moody claimed that Deanne Criswell and Marn’i Washington, a former FEMA employee who was fired for directing comfort workers to “avoid homes marketing Trump,” were engaged in a” conspiracy to discriminate against Florida hurricane victims.”
After reporters notified the channel that FEMA had instructed them to miss inspecting the destruction of homes in Lake Placid, Florida, with Trump lawn signs and banners following Hurricane Milton, The Daily Wire reported that the Florida complaint against FEMA follows.
While the information will continue to be revealed over the coming weeks and months, the lawsuit claims that accused Washington conspired with older FEMA officials and those carrying out her orders to endanger the rights of Florida citizens.
The complaint also references an , interview , Washington just had with Roland Martin, where she claimed that her instructions to prevent “politically angry” homes was in according with FEMA plan and was not an “isolated” affair, despite FEMA’s past claims.
Plaintiff Washington claims that identical conduct occurred in the same area as Hurricanes Helene and Milton in North Carolina. And she supports the’false ‘ propagation of older FEMA officials who claim they are unaware that Trump supporters faced discrimination.

In Thursday’s press release, Moody explained that he was filing the complaint in order to discover “how much this political bias reaches” and to ensure that all Americans who are impacted by major hurricanes, such as Hurricane Milton, receive the help they need, “regardless of their political involvement”.
The lawsuit filed by the Florida attorney general requests that the court declare that FEMA” conspired to interfere” with the civil rights of Florida residents who back Trump and demands damages for the defendants.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated his support for the lawsuit on Thursday in a post on X, formerly Twitter, saying it was “unacceptable” for the federal government to discriminate against Floridians who voted for Trump, especially in the wake of a hurricane. I support the Attorney General’s Office’s legal action, and I have instructed state agencies to do the same to hold those responsible for their actions.
