TOI Correspondent from London: An international manhunt has been launched for an Indian-origin man accused of murdering his Indian wife and leaving her dead body inside the boot of a car in London before fleeing Britain.
On Sunday, Northamptonshire police named Pankaj Lamba ( 23 ) as the prime suspect in the murder of his 24-year-old wife, Harshita Brella.

She had been living in Corby, Northamptonshire, when her body was discovered inside the heel of a vehicle in Ilford, East London, in the early hours of November 14. A death investigation was next launched.
Residents reported hearing” a lady sounded scared” last Wednesday at the home of many occupation where Brella lived and that she had heard pounding and equipment being thrown. After concerns were raised, authorities visited Brella’s home on Wednesday. Police located her figure inside the boot of an abandoned car close to a park 150 kilometers away after she was never found. Brella’s murder was determined by a criminal post-mortem exam.
On September 3, a domestic assault order was issued to defend Brella from Lamba. At Northampton courts ‘ court, the order was given. It prevented Lamba from molesting her, threatening crime, or intimidating, harassing or pestering her, and he was not allowed to enter her work.
Northamptonshire authorities said in a statement on Sunday that they believed her father, Pankaj Lamba, had killed Harshita earlier this month. We believe Lamba may have transported the system by car to Ilford. We believe he has then fled the country”. The event, which has now become a global hunt, involves more than 60 police.
