Nikki Haley, former US ambassador to the United Nations, has called out MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski for their recent face-to-face meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, accusing them of attempting to boost their ratings after years of harshly criticizing him.
The guests, who had met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago location in Florida to “restart communications,” were slammed on the social media platform X by the previous governor of South Carolina and one-time Republican presidential candidate.
” Let’s be clear, Joe and Mika did n’t suddenly see the light, they saw their ratings”, Haley wrote on X. ” They realized they needed Trump for their survival”, she added.
Haley, who has previously made outright critics of Trump, made the comments on the SiriusXM visitors. ” I mean, this get clear. They saw the ratings pond and they realized,’ Oh, we stronger get on with Donald Trump or otherwise we’re not going to have a display.'”
The original ambassador even criticized Brzezinski and Scarborough for their previous treatment of her, calling her actions” tore me up” whenever she criticized Trump. Even though I criticized him when I thought he was wrong,” Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough tore me up when I said anything,” Haley said. When I thought he was fine, I praised him. They tore me up”.
Given Scarborough and Brzezinski’s prior powerful condemnations of Trump, including those that compared him to Adolf Hitler, Haley’s comments came after they were widely criticized for their duplicity.
Additionally, MSNBC people expressed anger toward the guests. An MSNBC staff member told Fox News Digital,” Cowardice. Doing exactly what]anti-Trump historian ] Tim Snyder warns on our air not to do: obey in advance. It’s ugly but openly unsurprising”.
Brzezinski and Scarborough opened the present by addressing Trump during their meeting, acknowledging the heavy political divides between the public and the president. Brzezinski explained that despite their long-standing criticism of Trump, a fresh perspective was needed.
Washington and the nation have been greatly divided by five years of political conflict. We have expressed our deep concern about President Trump’s actions and words in the sluggishness of the argument, Brzezinski said.
” But for roughly 80 million Americans, vote for, public testing, January 6th were not as important as the troubles that moved them to give Donald Trump back to the White House with their vote”, she continued.
” Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump, but likewise talking with him”, Brzezinski added.
