Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway’s king lady Mette-Marit, was arrested in the country’s money, Oslo, on Monday evening on suspicion of murder, Norway police announced Tuesday.
Borg Hiby, 27, is Crown Prince Haakon’s grandson, but he is not associated with any royals or formal positions.
Authorities accused Borg Hiiby of having” sexual relations with someone who is unconscious or unable to resist the act” ( poaching ). In the meantime, authorities can detain suspects following this initial cost. Although the alleged incident occurred at a later time, authorities said the victim “must have been unable to resist the act.”
A primary demand allows for the holding of suspects during the research before a formal charge.
Norway media reported that Borg Høiby denied the allegations. Hege Salomon, the attorney representing the alleged victim, described her clientele as “having a hard time” and clarified that the situation was initiated by police, never the victim. The person’s identity has not been disclosed.
The Scandinavian royal palace has not commented on the problem, according to NTB, the nationwide media organization.
This imprisonment adds to Borg Høiby’s due legal issues. He was quickly detained in downtown Oslo in August on suspicion of bodily harm and legal damage after an encounter. In that case, police said there was” a connection between the suspect and the target.” Extra charges have been brought against Borg Hiiby since then, including driving while without a valid license and violating restraining orders. Four people and one person are accused in total in these cases.
The imperial family is well-known in Norway, where the incident has dominated headlines. Borg Høiby resides with Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Crown lord Haakon, and their two children, lady Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.
Crown lady Mette-Marit gained people interest in 2001 when she married Haakon. She was a single mother at the time, and her recent was content, including having a relationship with a drug-related offender. Despite initial investigation, she was finally accepted by the Norwegian community.
