Owners of certain , Tesla Cybertrucks  , will have to visit the repair shop after Tesla issued a recall affecting 2, 400 of the electric vehicles over possible sudden loss of power to the wheels.
At problem is a circuit in some cars built between Nov. 6, 2023 and July 30. Loss of the part could lead to a non-responsive throttle pedal and “loss of locomotion, which may increase the risk of a collision”, the , National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s remember report , said.
According to the report, there might be no prior warning of the locomotion loss, but there will be an alert on the vehicle’s screen telling drivers to” properly take over the vehicle to the side of the road” if it does occur.
The issue was discovered after a user complained about a late-july 2024 Cybertruck’s immediate loss of locomotion, and the company has identified five insurance claims that may be related to the fault, according to the customers security management. Tesla was not aware of any fatalities, fatalities or injuries resulting from the issue, the agency said.
Tesla, according to the company, may change, for free, the generate transformer containing the transistor. Early in January, affected users will be notified via email.
It’s the fifth remember for the electrical pickup truck, a , super-speedy, eye-catching stainless-steel behemoth , second delivered to customers in November. While , some improvements to Tesla vehicles are fixed via technology updates , not requiring a visit to a repair shop, the circuit matter, like three of the other recalls, requires an on-site repair.
Tesla did not respond to inquiries for opinion on the recalls of the Cybertrucks right away.
The Cybertruck was recalled in January for the small-type instrument panel warning features, which the security agency claimed may raise the risk of a collision, affecting thousands of Tesla vehicles. That problem was fixed by updating the software.
About 4, 000 Cybertrucks with pedal brake pads were recalled in April, causing an unnecessary excursion to the repair facility.
In June,  , almost 12, 000 of the vehicles were recalled , because surging electrical current could remove the top windshield wiper car’s controller, another equipment problem requiring on-site repair.
The same day in June, the firm recalled more than 12, 000 Cybertrucks with cut in the sleep that had come untied, requiring repair at a store.
In September, Tesla , recalled more than 27, 000 of the pickups , because their rearview camera image may have been delayed. That recall was resolved through a software update.
Tesla has n’t made the Cybertruck’s sales figures known to the public.  , Kelley Blue Book has estimated , that the company, led by CEO Elon Musk, sold 28, 250 Cybertrucks this year.
