TOI Correspondent from London: An international manhunt has been launched for an Indian-origin man accused of murdering his Indian wife and leaving her dead body inside the boot of a car in London before fleeing Britain.
Police in Northamptonshire named Pankaj Lamba ( 23 ) as the main suspect in the death of his 24-year-old wife, Harshita Brella, on Sunday night.
After getting married in Delhi a few months ago, Brella moved to the English to begin a new life with her husband.
A picture of their wedding ceremony in Delhi, captured on the” Daily Mail,” showed Brella posing in beautiful red and bridal lehenga and bursting with joy.
She had been living in Corby, Northamptonshire, when her body was discovered inside the heel of a vehicle in Ilford, East London, in the early hours of Nov 14. A death analysis was next launched.
Northamptonshire authorities said in a statement on Sunday that they believe Harshita’s father, Pankaj Lamba, killed her in Northamptonshire earlier this month. We believe that Lamba may have transported Harshita’s figure by car from Northamptonshire to Ilford. We believe he has then fled the country”.
The event, which has now become a global hunt, involves more than 60 police.
The couple had been living in individual homes in Corby, which were only five minutes apart, it has emerged.
On September 3, Brella was ordered to avoid Lamba because she had been the subject of a domestic assault purchase. Northamptonshire police served the 28-day attempt at Northampton courts ‘ court. It prevented Lamba from molesting her, threatening crime, or intimidating, harassing or pestering her, and he was not allowed to enter her work.

On Wednesday, neighbors reported hearing” a female sounded scared” and equipment being thrown at the home of multiple occupation where Brella lived.
After concerns were raised, officers made a visit to Brella’s home on Wednesday. Police located her figure inside the boot of an abandoned car close to a park 150 kilometers away after she was never found.
A criminal post-mortem assessment established that Brella was murdered.
