According to two people with knowledge of the panel’s ideas, the ethics committee of the United States House of Representatives may meet on Wednesday to discuss the next steps in its analysis of Matt Gaetz. Gaetz is President-elect Donald Trump’s pull for solicitor general, reported Reuters.
Gaetz’s allegations of sexual misconduct and substance use have been subjected to an investigation by the council. On Wednesday, days after Trump’s nomination, Gaetz resigned from his House chair. He denies any crime.
The committee’s studies on Gaetz are being requested by some Democratic senators. The Senate confirms or rejects political meetings.
Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin remarked,” The Senate may have access to that.” Should it be made available to the general public or no? That I guess may be part of the conversations”.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, believes the document should not be made open because Gaetz is no longer a House part.
