US President-elect Donald Trump has named Linda McMahon as the next training minister. McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive, will head the department of education, a governmental organization Trump has recently suggested eliminating.
According to Trump,” Linda has worked tirelessly as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the America First Policy Institute ( AFPI ) for the past four years to achieve Universal School Choice in 12 States, ensuring children receive an excellent education, regardless of zip code or income,” she said in a statement. He added that McMahon did battle “tirelessly” to broaden general school choice across the country.
McMahon’s history spans both business and politics. World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE), a business that grew to be the dominant force in the professional wrestling sector, was founded by her and her husband Vince McMahon. Vince’s papa was also a grappling publicist, and the McMahons followed in his footsteps.
Trump and McMahon have recently collaborated. Trump attended a WWE WrestleMania function in 2007 while he was the number of the reality TV show *The Apprentice*. A staged conflict between Trump and Vince McMahon was the center of the plot, which saw Vince shaving his head in the wrestlers ring.
McMahon resigned from her position as WWE’s chief executive in order to run for office. She finally made it in politics. She ran half for a US Senate seats in Connecticut, losing in 2010 to Richard Blumenthal and in 2012 to Chris Murphy.
McMahon’s first interests included training. She previously stated that she had intended to work as a tutor before her vocation changed after getting married and that she spent a year on the Connecticut Board of Education.
McMahon also held the position of head of the Small Business Administration ( SBA ), which administers government contracts and grants loans to businesses. Trump praised her achievement when she left the position in 2019, saying,” The fact is, I’ve known her for a long time. I knew she was good, but I did n’t know she was that good”.
After leaving the SBA, McMahon stayed connected to Trump. She chaired America First Action, a very Congress supporting Trump’s 2020 election campaign. McMahon helped create the America First Policy Institute, which continues to support Trump’s plans, despite Joe Biden’s defeat.
