Monday, the prosecution rested its situation in the Laken Riley prosecution. Now, both sides made their closing arguments, and the judge presiding over the prosecution was quick to make a decision. He found 26-year-old José Ibarra, a Colombian illegal immigrant and criminal gang member, guilty on all 10 works, which include criminal crime, hate crime, false prison, hindering a 911 call, aggravated assault with intent to assault, and theft.  ,

Ibarra refused to give his individual testimony and waived his right to a jury trial. Judge H. Patrick Haggard of the Superior Court said the proof against him was enormous.  ,
Ibarra came to the United States illegally in 2022 through the frontier at El Paso, Texas. He was taken to New York while being detained by unlawful immigration officers, given a test day, and allowed to leave. He was detained but later released after a small crime he committed while he lived in New York. When his brother informed him that he could get employment in Georgia, he and his companion took a taxpayer-funded trip to the country last year for illegal immigrants. Additionally, Ibarra is a Tren de Aragua part in Venezuela.  ,
One day on the University of Georgia college, a 22-year-old medical student went for a jog. Ibarra was lurking, waiting for a woman to come by, saw Riley, and attempted to rape her. She fought him off and tried to call 911, according to prosecutors, but he bashed her nose in with a big item, most likely a stone.  ,

Upon issuing the conviction, Judge Haggard called for a corner. It’s expected that he’ll declare punishment after the corner. Ibarra is most likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars. We’ll have changes as soon as they happen.  ,
This is a developing history, and we’ll have more information as they become available.
