In response to rumors that President-elect Donald Trump might apply military force in a massive deportation operation, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has pledged to protect illegal immigrants in her town. Speaking to local news outlet WCVB on Sunday, Wu articulated the state’s responsibility to safeguarding its people, regardless of immigration standing, as concerns rise about Trump’s emigration protection plans.
Wu argued that all residents may still be able to access city services like 911 and public education, saying that they were necessary resources related to immigration enforcement.
People who are a part of our economy, our system of education, our group, and the fabric of our city are next to feel they have to flee into the shadows all of a sudden, according to Wu. Call 911 when you need it, or enroll your child in a school are all services provided by the town, and we will continue to protect those who live there.
Wu added that Boston had not collaborate with federal deportation efforts because, in her opinion, they did foster fear and mistrust. According to Just the News, President-elect Trump has pledged to arrest thousands of illegal immigrants and has made immigration police his top priority. He made an alleged suggestion on Monday that a national emergency might be declared to help these operations.

Tom Homan, Trump’s appointed “border czar”, issued a stark warning to shelter places unwilling to cooperate. ” If they do n’t want to help, they need to get the hell out of the way”, Homan told Fox News earlier this month. He claimed that if organizations did n’t cooperate, there would be more federal agents stationed in hostile cities.
” What it means is, more than take 100 individuals to Boston, we’re going to mail 200 agents to Boston. We’re going to find the career done”, Homan said.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, a Democrat, has even pledged to reject Trump’s imprisonment ideas. According to Headley, the state had “use every tool in the toolbox” to shield residents, and it would use Massachusetts State Police without any restrictions when conducting federal immigration enforcement.
