On Wednesday, Judge H. Patrick Haggard found Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, guilty of brutally murdering 22-year-old Georgia medical scholar Laken Riley. Ibarra received living in prison without the possibility of pardon, as requested by lawyers.
Although some may criticize the American legal system for this decision, this one-sided goal is actually a complete failure of justice. The death penalty is necessary because of the seriousness of the crime, as well as the victim’s British citizenship and the perpetrator’s improper mysterious status.
He violated our nation’s sovereignty by entering improperly, leeched off the open pittance for years, and then cruelly murdered an American citizen. His sentence? On the citizen’s money, he is able to live here for the rest of his days. That’s no justice, that’s a real fulfillment of President Joe Biden’s emigration philosophy.
Ibarra attacked her in a wooded area near her class in February with the intention of raping her, then killed her before dumping her body in the woods. The day after Riley’s death, police identified him as a think and made an arrest.
The government was able to learn that Ibarra entered the country illegally in 2022 and had many encounters with law enforcement before attacking Riley despite the public’s best efforts to suppress it. Eventually, it was discovered that Ibarra was connected to the extremely harsh Colombian gang Tren de Aragua, which is responsible for the forcibly seizing of numerous apartment blocks in Colorado.
What transpired next demonstrates the disastrous loss of our nation’s immigration laws toward illegal aliens and border crossings.
When he first crossed the border, Border Patrol agents apprehended him before letting him leave thus that he could file for asylum. In August of this year, he was taken to New York where he was charged with “reckless destruction of a baby” and “acting in a way harmful to a child.” He remained there. The Biden-Harris management provided funding for the Biden-Harris administration’s free journey, which Ibarra therefore took to Georgia. No one ever intervened to dislodge this fugitive from our nation despite the existence of proof of Ibarra’s lawlessness.
Ibarra is n’t the only guilty party in Riley’s death. The Biden-Harris management and local officials who promoted sanctuary city policies and who facilitated a large-scale invasion of the southwestern border deserve a lot of the blame for this horror.
Because it already amounts to a “very large consequence,” Deborah Gonzalez, the city attorney for Athens-Clarke and Oconee regions, chose to pursue career without the possibility of parole. Gonzalez-Lay has also stated that when filing fees, he will consider” the collateral consequences of illegal defendants” and has acted in accordance with local officials ‘ shelter policies, which help illegals like Ibarra avoid deportation.
In a statement from 2023, the Athens City Council recently adopted a resolution welcoming unlawful creatures in 2019. Without a national warrant or court order, the Athens-Clarke County sheriff’s office did not carry out an immigration and customs police 48-hour ejectment.
Two weeks ago, Gonzalez lost her election charge to separate Kalki Yalamanchili, who was supported by left-wing billionaire George Soros.
Fortunately, the Biden-Harris management is on its way out after its own political humiliation. But Ibarra and thousands of other laborers would never have made it into the country if border surveillance had been strictly enforced. While campaigning for Harris in October, past president Bill Clinton admitted to doing the same.
” You had a case in Georgia not very long ago, did n’t you? A young lady who had been killed by an immigrant was the subject of an advertisement about it. Yeah, well, if they’d all been properly vetted that probably would n’t have happened”, Clinton , said.
President Joe Biden’s conversation with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., illustrates the distinction between how the federal government treats illegal aliens and how it treats its own people.
After Greene demanded that Biden say Riley’s brand, Biden called Ibarra an “illegal”. In the same trade, he called Lake Riley” Lincoln Riley”. Soon after, the man who could n’t even get a murdered American’s name right begged forgiveness for using the correct term for Ibarra.
Ibarra will be incarcerated in our national prison along with hundreds of other noncitizens. In 2022, according to the Government Accountability Office, noncitizens accounted for 15 % of the federal prison population. A second of” all persons sentenced in fiscal year 2023″ were reported to the U.S. Sentencing Commission that the federal program had issued 21, 504 noncitizen sentences in the fiscal year 2023. Of those 21, 504 noncitizens, 88.4 percent were outlawed foreigners and more than half had prior criminal record.
Ibarra should n’t spend his time in an American prison; at best, this is due to his involvement with the Tren de Aragua gang and Venezuela’s well-known corruption. Sending him back there to serve his sentence is a dubious idea. So, the death penalty is the most effective way to treat this monster justice.
But it’s not just about practicality and saving income: It’s also about our recognition as a society. We must demonstrate that we prioritize the protection of our people over the alleged prey of violent mysterious criminals. We must demonstrate that those who murder our citizens will receive timely retribution from British justice. And we must be aware that the most appropriate punishment for some crimes is the death penalty because some crimes are consequently horrible and dangerous to the preservation of a civilized society.
