Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin, who co-host The View, have been sparring more frequently since the 2024 election, but hostilities broke out on Wednesday over Department of Education“>Donald Trump’s choice to replace Linda McMahon as head of the education ministry and his strategies to shut down the agency.
” I do n’t think Donald Trump is going to abolish the Department of Education”, Farah Griffin, a former Trump White House staffer, said on Wednesday. He’ll likely spend more in ticket programs and educational savings accounts, he said. Physically, one thing I agree on, I think class choice is essential and the income should follow the pupil”.
Hostin then attempted to criticise school choice and the “voucher system” in a 20/20 study as she engaged in a protracted monologue about vouchers assisting powerful families in private schools.
” When you hear about class choice, it’s truly connected to the ticket system, and I encourage everyone to read up on it”, Hostin said. ” The Department of Education is responsible for$ 18.4 billion that fund high poverty in K-12 schools”.
She continued,” What happens with tickets? The findings of the studies are illuminating how much money is spent on students who currently attend private institutions. Where do you get the money from tickets, and why do people who have money would so get those tickets and use them to pay less for their personal institutions? You pull the income from the bad schools”.
Hostin’s statements about school vouchers were disputed by the traditional View number.
” I do n’t see it —”, Farah Griffin said as she tried to make her point.
” Allow me finish”, Hostin immediately replied, adding,” Rich people are increasingly the consumers. This has been studied. A 2020 review found that just about half of states with card plans required teachers to have a bachelor’s degree, required instructors to have training”.
Farah Griffin tried repeatedly to consider in on Hostin’s claims.

Hostin was finally made to apologize to Farah Griffin for attending a private school, but Goldberg ended the exchange.
