According to court papers released on Wednesday, a Florida man has been detained by the FBI on suspicion of plotting to obliterate the New York Stock Exchange.
According to the criminal complaint, Harun Abdul-Malik Yener is accused of using an improvised explosive unit to harm or kill a building used for interstate or international business.
Authorities allege his goal was the , center of Wall Street.
Authorities describe Yener, 30, as a north Florida resident who was born in the U. S. and is now poor.
Their research into Yener began in February after receiving a hint he was  , building a weapon inside an opened store unit , in Coral Springs, Florida.
Upon searching the system, FBI special agents discovered “bomb-making sketches, many watches with timers, electrical circuit boards, and another electronics… that could be used for constructing violent devices”, the feds said.
Yener’s digital tools were constantly searched the internet for information about building weapons dating back to 2017, according to an investigation into his personal products.
In a later meeting, Yener allegedly admitted to having” considered joining and fighting for ISIS in Iraq” and having “previously attempted to join local radical groups.”
Months later, he identified the Stock Exchange as the goal of his explosive tale while speaking with an undercover representative he thought was a part of an anti-government army. According to allegations, he claimed he had a plan to attack New York during the week of November 18, 2024.
The goal of Yener’s reported evil plan was to “reset” the United States government, according to the government. Soon after the attack, he claimed he had planned to make a recorded recording of his demands public. Those needs included the termination of “funding and cover for refugees and refugees” and the widespread deportation of illegal immigrants and illegal migrants.
Yener reportedly compared the violent to” a tiny nuke” that may seriously harm the building and anyone inside the Stock Exchange.
If the assault was a victory, he planned to future target oil rig, investigators said.
” I have nothing to lose, like, I got no family, children, you know what I mean”? Yener reportedly told an undercover investigator who had helped to develop the case against him.
