After hitting a novel low for 2024 on Tuesday, the national average rate for a gallon of ordinary fuel has remained constant. Thursday’s rate for regular oil is$ 3.063 per gallon, according to AAA. This is the same amount as on Tuesday. On Wednesday, there was a very minuscule increase when the price was$ 3.066.

The Energy Information Administration reports that gas prices have fallen to their lowest level since June 2021, when the regular price for a gallon of gas was$ 3.064. Since then, high gas prices at over$ 3 per gallon ( and, for a brief period, over$ 4 per gallon ) have been a financial burden to drivers.

For more than three years, the Biden presidency struggled due to high gasoline prices. After hitting report peaks in 2022, the highest in the nation’s history, gasoline prices began to lower later in the year. Gas prices started falling repeatedly in May 2024 after another spike in 2023, and they have since continued to do so every month.

However, gas prices have decreased significantly since President-elect Donald Trump took department between January 2017 and January 2021 despite decades of lower oil prices. It remains to be seen what will happen to fuel prices during Trump’s subsequent expression, with his scheduled for election on January 20, 2025.

However, gas prices continue to shift across the country. Currently, Hawaii has the most expensive gas prices in the country at$ 4.574 per gallon. Oklahoma, meanwhile, has the least expensive gas in the nation with a price of$ 2.563 per gallon. Click here to view the oil prices across the state. Read on to find out what typical gasoline prices are on average in and around Washington, D. C.

    Virginia

Petrol prices in Virginia fell to$ 2.982 on Thursday. This is after the last week’s price has been hovering around$ 3 per gallon. On Tuesday, the country’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline dropped significantly to$ 2.997. The typical cost in Virginia was$ 3.015 for a quart of regular gasoline on Friday. A week ago, it was$ 3.012. Virginia drivers will be pleasantly surprised by the recent drops in gas prices because a gallon of regular gas is now less costly than it was a month before, when the price was$ 3.081.

    Maryland

The average price for a quart of regular gasoline decreased on Wednesday to$ 3.157 following a recent spike in petrol prices in Maryland, which increased by nearly 20 percent in less than two months. This was an almost four-cent drop from Wednesday when the price was$ 3.199 per gallon. Prices are still higher than they were a week ago, when normal gas price$ 3.11 per gallon. The same holds for pricing a month before, albeit ever-so-slightly, when a gallon of regular gasoline was$ 3.155.

    Delaware

Delaware‘s gas prices dropped to a new$ 3.081 per gallon on Thursday. A week ago, a gallon of regular gasoline in the position was roughly eight cents less costly, costing$ 3.006. Until recently, gas prices in the First State fluctuated between$ 3 and$ 2.95 per gallon. Due to the surge in Delaware‘s gas prices, a gallon of regular gas costs slightly more right now than a month ago, when it was$ 3.073.
