Ibarra was given a life sentence on Wednesday for the death of Laken Riley, a medical student who was killed by Ibarra on the University of Georgia college. These at PJ Media, we demonstrated how the woke state of Athens-Clarke County, where UGA is located, failed Riley, as did Liberals at every stage.

The trial‘s result was influenced by the efforts of my friend and colleague Sarah Anderson to close the border issue and its result, as well as by the jury’s conviction.
President-elect Donald Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social:
JUSTICE FOR LAKEN RILEY! Just as a result of his horrifying acts, the Illegal who killed our favorite Laken Riley was found innocent. Although the suffering and heartache will last forever, we can all at least hope that this will bring some peace and rest to her great relatives who fought for justice and prevent other families from having to deal with their suffering. We love you, Laken, and our emotions will always be with you. To prevent another crime like this from occurring, it is necessary to secure our borders and eliminate these thieves and thugs from our nation!
Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Ga. ) wrote in a statement on Instagram:
We continue to grieve her loss with her family and friends, knowing that she should still be with us presently despite the fact that justice has been rendered for Laken Riley. We applaud the heroism of Laken’s loved people for reliving that awful day to maintain her criminal faced the consequences of her cruel actions after the information was revealed in this test. We will continue to work to maintain Laken’s storage lasts forever.
After blatantly breaking our laws, this offender should never have been denied entry to our nation, and he certainly should not have been denied entry. Laken Riley was let down by open border policies, and tomorrow’s ruling serves as a reminder that our top priority must always be the safety of our societies. I will continue to support efforts to secure our borders and maintain this condition and our country safe, even though our state has taken significant steps to address the impact of the border crisis.

State Rep. Houston Gaines (R-120th District ), whose district includes part of Athens-Clarke County — and who exposed DA Deborah Gonzalez’s refusal to pursue the death penalty for Ibarra — had this to say:
Gonzalez ‘ policies led to her resignation on Election Day, and she not only refused to seek the death penalty in this terrible situation, but she also stated she would “take into consideration credit consequences to illegal defendants.” On her X supply, she is surprisingly silent about the righteousness that happened on Wednesday.
She instead thanked Joe Biden for one of his tweets following his victory, which also included tweets about Puerto Rican Heritage Month and World Kindness Day as well as tweets about Working Families Party ( far-left ). It’s unfortunate that Ibarra did n’t treat Riley on that February day.

Riley’s family deserves our condolences for her brutal murder. But that does n’t bring her back, and her family will always suffer her loss.
