The Ronald Reagan National Library, which is located in Simi Valley, California, opened a new show on Friday featuring the Dead Sea Scrolls. The new show, created in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority, provides visitors with a better knowledge of the “history, society, and spiritual practices of old Religion and the first foundations of Christianity”.
The show will mark the return of the Dead Sea Scrolls to the United States for the first time in nearly a decade, according to a recent press release from the Ronal Reagan National Foundation &, Institute.
The historic display, which is called” Dead Sea Scrolls: The Exhibition”, does highlight the traditional discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, a collection of old Jewish documents. The artifacts, which were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in caves near the Dead Sea, are dated from 250 BCE to 68 CE, according to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation &, Institute. Many of the manuscripts featured in the college’s most recent exhibit “have not been seen outside Israel,” according to the press release.
A Hebrew plate from the Great Psalms Scroll, which was discovered in Cave 11, is one of the first Dead Sea Scroll fragments to get displayed in the school’s fresh show, according to the media release.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation &, Institute announced that the Dead Sea Scrolls show will contain about 200 artifacts from the Israel Antiquities Authority, including the Magdala Stone, the Sea of Galilee Boat, the Psalm Scroll, Tyrian shekels, artifacts form Masada, and ossuaries used in Israeli extra cremation.
Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute President & CEO David Trulio spoke highly of the value of the new show, saying,” It’s a tremendous honor to hold the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Reagan Library on the 75th commemoration of the revelation. The Dead Sea Scrolls are foundational to the development of the great theistic beliefs: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We are happy to present these historic treasures to the public because President Reagan had a profound influence on his belief.
In the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation &, Institute’s hit transfer, Israel Antiquities Authority Director Eli Escusido added,” The Israel Antiquities Authority is glad to be part of such an important show”.
The Dead Sea Scrolls display will continue to be on display through 2025’s fall.
