This week, Linda McMahon appears in a number of videos that appear in X that include the phrase” Behold, the new training secretary” as the then-World Wrestling Entertainment CEO.
If their purpose was to offend McMahon, they missed the mark.
According to traditional commentators, her toughness is precisely what President-elect Donald Trump’s directive to, if not to abolish it, would be to diminish and distribute federal authority to the states.
” Vanquishing Washington’s swollen education administration will be a knock-down drag-out struggle that Ms. McMahon may be well-suited for”, wrote The Wall Street Journal editorial table, noting hers is” a task that will require skirmishing with an oversized government, teachers unions and other special interest stalwarts”.
The Biden Administration has successfully transformed the educational section into a member of the social returned and teachers unions. Ms. McMahon’s major priorities will be ending student loan write-offs, rolling up the district’s Title IX rules, devolving school power to the states and promoting alternative training pathways”, the table wrote Nov. 21.
The center-right National Association of Scholars praised McMahon’s long-standing fervent support for school choice in a statement released on November 20 in which it praised the choice and demanded that the Senate ensure her.
” The system of free selection in higher education, however, has allowed a small number of really excellent schools to develop. Additionally, K-12 education’s use of school choice may result in more and more excellent choices, according to NAS President Peter Wood’s statement.
In the face of fierce opposition from the education system, Secretary McMahon will have to overcome the challenge of supporting these high-quality option schools and colleges, according to Wood. She is up to that problem, as evidenced by her personal and professional background as a proponent of thoughts that established institutions oppose.
During Trump’s second word, McMahon led the Small Business Administration. Additionally, she has served on Sacred Heart University’s Connecticut board of trustees and the state’s board of education.
McMahon, in a blog on X, said she is “hopeful of Senate verification” and “deeply honored and humbled for this chance”.
” I’m determined to work hard to make sure that every student has access to a high-quality knowledge. To improve our educational system, I look forward to working with individuals, teachers, families, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure that every child, irrespective of their demography, is prepared for a bright future.
Former education minister during Trump’s first word, Betsy DeVos, praised the choice.
” Really excited for my friend @Linda_McMahon! She is a confirmed administrative who cares about children. I know she’s ready to go to work to expand education freedom, restore Title IX and protect women, fix the mess on college campuses, return power to states and families, and, most importantly, PUT STUDENTS FIRS T”, DeVos posted.

Bob Eitel and Jim Blew, co-founders of The Defense of Freedom Institute, both wrote a declaration praising McMahon.
” The incoming secretary’s fresh approach to command, as well as her support as a school director and state board of education associate, make her the perfect option to restore parental and local power over training”, they wrote.
