A University of Louisville teacher responded by calling the legislators” white supremacists” after around a hundred Kentucky state politicians demanded the resignation of the state’s” chief capital agent.”
A year after Election Day, Jefferson County Public Schools Chief Equity Officer John Marshall , told” Black experts &, kids” via his individual social media that” THE MAJORITY of white could care less about you &, have no problems harming you or yours”, the Kentucky Lantern information.
” Strategy. Separate by at least half and separate the number by your presence. That’s where you start”, Marshall had added.
Afterward, sixteen GOP state legislators, all of whom are white, demanded that Marshall retire. They argued that” such foolish talk inciting hatred based on skin color may be grounds for immediate cancellation.”
But University of Louisville professor Ricky Jones ( pictured, right ), head of the Pan African Studies Department, said the lawmakers are the ones who should resign citing their “lack respect for the First and 14th amendments”.
Jones said the legislators ‘ demand was “another brazen example of white supremacy in Kentucky”, and that they” thought not only was]the demand ] OK, but thought it would go unchallenged, because they think that Black people are in a subordinate position, that they’re powerless and that they fear them”.
This past week, Jones was inducted into the Jefferson County Public Schools” Equity Hall of Fame” ( Marshall, pictured at left, introduced the HoF members ), and he referenced the state lawmakers in his speech, WDRB reports.

The “greatest risk you face straight today is light power, which is in disguise as the anti-DE I activity in this state”, Jones said. ” That’s what it is. But when you see people harm our dear brother, John Marshall, like last year, you understand what they’re doing”.
” These are light nationalists”, Jones said of the Republicans. ” These legislators and others will come back to attack you and your children with anti-DE I legislation,” which is in fact the state’s continuing support of white supremacy in the twenty-first century.
Each state consultant and senator who signed the letter in demand of Marshall’s resignation was especially named by Jones.

In support of Marshall, Kentuckians For the Commonwealth launched a petition calling the Kentucky politicians ‘ “resignation demand” absurd and dishonest. ” It likewise claimed the issue of Marshall’s comment is being” stirred” by those” just empowered by recent election results.”
