A prosecutor said on Monday that the trial of a man accused of extorting his heavily sedated wife in France must necessarily alter relationships between men and women.
Jean-Francois Mayet addressed the jury in the southwestern city of Avignon, stating that” this test is shaking up our world in our relationship with each other and in the most romantic relationships between humans.”

The test is making European society work” to know our requires, our emotions, our desires and above all to take into account those of others”, he said.
What is at play, he added, “is hardly a judgment or an conviction” but” to fundamentally transform the relationships between people and women”, he added.
The trial is making demands on Dominique Pelicot, the principal accuser, and Gisele Pelicot’s ex-husband, to be sentenced for the 51 people on trial.
The people, aged between 26 and 74 centuries, are generally charged with aggravated assault and face up to 20 years of imprisonment if convicted.
” The information, and the individuality of each accused, were taken into account even in our punishment demands”, Mayet added, saying that” justice needs calm and peaceful conversations”.
He also praised the” courage” and “dignity” of Gisele Pelicot, the victim of some 200 repeated rapes, half of which were attributed to her ex-husband.
Mayet thanked her for permitting the people to attend hearings and allowing Dominique Pelicot to display some of the 20, 000 photos and videos that were taken without her information.
” You were right, lady: the past few months have shown the value of showing this, but that shame shifts edges”, he added.
