City newspaper inquires,” Why do we never hear anything from the union about what its members owe the taxpayers ( and parents ) of this city, but all we hear from CTU is demands for more?”
Teachers in Chicago’s public schools continue to demand higher salaries despite having been declared” severely excluded” from work by 41 % of them.
The Chicago Teachers Union is still negotiating for a new contract, which the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune just criticized. Original versions had demanded completely abortions, trans surgeries, and also weight loss drugs.
State data show 41 percent missed 10 or more days of work during the 2023-24 school season, the Tribune reported. ( The Tribune did not, as the Tribune noted, include summers and other generous paid vacations. )
The demands would cost$ 10 billion in the next four years, according to an analysis.
” So it’s fair to ask as CTU continues to make outrageous demands of city and state taxpayers, what exactly are Chicagoans getting for the$ 30, 000-per-student they are currently paying, the highest per-student investment in Illinois”, the board wrote. Why do we only hear demands for more from the CTU, but nothing about what its members owe the city’s citizens ( and their families )?
The district’s educational mission acknowledged that it serves a large number of low-income kids. It has done a great job of motivating students to attend classes instead of skipping classes.
A great teacher can have a hugely positive impact on a child’s coming, the panel wrote. ” But to have that option, educators need to be present”.
” And in Chicago showing up is the least we should expect from our very well-compensated public-school instructors”, the editorial board wrote.
Stacey Gates, the union’s president, enrolls her son in a private school, but the issue does n’t affect him personally.
Gates has recently criticized the government’s beautiful requirements by blaming it on traditional prejudice.
The city of Chicago is nearly, if not completely, run by Democrats. The mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, is a defunder of the officers and administrator of the teachers ‘ union.
In June, she told the neighborhood radio station WBBM,” Conservatives do n’t even want black children to be able to read.”
She even claimed that conservatives oppose the education of racial minorities in an “oath” they take.
