A criminal named Daniel Andreas San Diego, who has been wanted by the FBI for more than 20 years in connection with two California bombing, has been detained in Wales.
San Diego, 46, was apprehended on Monday by the National Crime Agency at a house close to forests in Conwy with assistance from North Wales Police and counter-terrorism soldiers. San Diego will appear in Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday after the start of abduction proceedings.
San Diego was alleged to have been a part of two 2003 attacks linked to dog right fanaticism by the FBI.
On 28 August that month, two bombs exploded on the school of Chiron Corp, a biotech firm in Emeryville, California, and a fortnight after, on 26 September, a nail-strapped bomb exploded at Shaklee Corp., a health organization in Pleasanton.
Both businesses reportedly faced criticism from the New York Post because of their ties to laboratories that conduct dog research.
San Diego’s imprisonment marks a major milestone in a decades-long hunt.
According to FBI Director Christopher Wray,” Daniel San Diego’s incarceration after more than 20 times as a criminal for two attacks in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will get you and hold you accountable.”
Wray continued,” There is a right way and a wrong way to express your opinions in our country, and turning to violence and destroying home is not the right way.”
San Diego, who was named in 2009’s Most Wanted Terrorists record, has been accused of having ties to pet rights extremists.
Known for his vegan lifestyle, experience in computer network, and effectiveness with the Linux operating system, he apparently travelled worldwide. He possessed a scar of burning cliffs with the word “it just takes a fire” on his neck, reported The Guardian.
The FBI had offered a$ 250, 000 reward for information leading to San Diego’s capture.
