In recent years, professional sports teams have suffered the same fate as some other groups. The most notable instances of this include the Washington Redskins of the National Football League ( NFL ) becoming the Washington Commanders and the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball ( MLB ) becoming the Cleveland Guardians. However, are the Commanders likely to return to their original brand and name in the future?  ,

The quick response is sort of. Sometimes. At least some of the ancient Redskins title might return, in theory. And it all comes from a bill now passing the US Senate.  ,
H. R. 4984, which may give the District of Columbia power of the former Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium school, was recently approved by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources with a vote of 17-2. Over the years, including the Washington Redskins between 1961 and 1996, RFK Stadium hosted a number of college and professional groups in various activities. The Senate had approve the team’s plans to construct a new stadium in that ancient location if the legislation is passed in December.  ,
But there’s a find. The commission, the NFL, and the Commanders discussed the issue with Montana Senator Steve Daines, who spoke on Fox News yesterday and spoke with him about the brand restoration.  ,
Daines argues that the logo’s removal was an example of “woke gone wrong.” It was created especially in honor of a Montana Native American commander who was born. Daines also made it clear that not just Washington football fans who have been a fan for a long time like the logo again. The Blackfeet chief’s family and village support its revival, too.  ,

For almost 50 years, the team’s experience, known as John Two Guns White Calf, has been associated with him. Earlier this year, his great grandson Thomas White Calf told Fox News:” We want it back”.  ,
The most well-known and shot Native American in history was our ancestor. The Indian head nickel even features the image of Two Guns. I’m glad of him. The Blackfeet are happy of him”, Thomas added.  ,
According to Fox News, 90 % of Native Americans do n’t want the team’s name and reputation to change based on polls. Native American organizations have also gone so far as to accuse the Washington Commanders of erasing their ethnic identity. Last year, the Native American Guardians Association ( NAGA ) filed a complaint with the team owner, Josh Harris, for defamation, civil conspiracy and civil rights violations.  ,
” The name ‘ Redskins’ carries strong cultural, historical, and emotional significance, honoring the courage, endurance, and warrior soul associated with Native American culture”, the party said, adding that the” Commanders” title represented rulers.  ,

In 2020, Redskins rights changed its name. A D.C. television station actually went so far as to remove the Redskins emblem from archive footage and remove it during viewer-submitted information, according to the New York Post.  ,
The symbol was painted by African American actor Walter” Blackie” Wetzel. Additionally, according to The Post, the team’s apply was his thought.  ,
In other words, the majority of the “outrage” over the team name and image was caused by woken white liberals who could n’t leave well enough alone, as has been the case for the past few years. We’re finally heading back in the right direction, thanks.  ,
