Many people of US President-elect Donald Trump’s leadership and government takes have been targeted with threats, including weapon scares and” swatting” incidents, according to his director, Karoline Leavitt.
In a speech on Wednesday, Leavitt revealed that the incidents occurred later Tuesday and beginning Wednesday, prompting sharp law enforcement actions to protect those affected.
Leavitt refrained from specifying the people targeted or detailing the precise nature of the dangers. However, she characterized the incidents as ranging from bomb threats to “swatting ” – a dangerous hoax in which false reports of criminal activity are made to trigger a heavily armed police response at someone’s residence.
“With President Trump as our instance, harmful acts of intimidation and crime does not deter us, ” Leavitt stated.
The FBI and the department of justice have not yet commented on the situations.
These new risks add to a growing record of situations targeting Trump and his affiliates. In July, Trump sustained a small ear damage in an assassination test in Pennsylvania. Another person was charged with attempted assassination in September after being discovered with a shotgun outside one of Trump’s Florida golf courses.
Trump’s change group has been actively preparing for his notion of business following his November 5 election defeat. Earlier this month, Trump’s group finalized a memorandum of understanding with the White House, enabling formal engagement with national organizations and exposure to important documents.
