A 36-year-old person faces a first-degree murder charge after police say he beat a golfer to death with the defendant’s clubs at a local golf course, USA Today reports.
Northwest of West Palm Beach, at Sandhill Crane Golf Club, was the site of the attack on Monday evening. Authorities identified the suspect as Junior Boucher and the sufferer as 65-year-old Brian Hiltebeitel.
Police claimed Boucher struck Hiltebeitel with a golf club close to the first hole, according to testimony. Finally he pursued Hiltebeitel to a lake. In the ocean, the strike continued. Testimony heard Hiltebeitel roar,” He’s trying to kill me”! Authorities say Boucher choked Hiltebeitel before leaving the water and walking, half-naked, toward a forested area.
Officers arrived soon after and found Hiltebeitel’s figure in the water. He was declared dead at the scene despite attempts to revive him. Shortly after police used an electronic control unit to subdue him, Boucher was spotted fleeing the region.
Authorities are also looking into the case, according to Palm Beach Gardens police agent Javier Garcia, who stated,” Police have not yet identified a cause, as this appears to have been a strange act of violence.”
Boucher was detained before being taken to a doctor for a skilled check-up using an “electronic control device.” He was finally taken to a prison where he is still unblocked. Boucher, a West Palm Beach native, refused to speak with police without an attorney present. On December 26, he will make his first court appearance to answer the crime cost.
Around the same day as Boucher’s home reported him missing to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the attack took place. According to court documents, two cousins also filed an eviction notice against him the same time. This had even happened in 2018, according to court records.
