According to a spokeswoman for the Trump transition group, some people the president-elect has chosen for important government positions have received weapon threats.
National Review reported the breaking information Wednesday:
The people “were targeted in harsh, unAmerican risks to their life and those who live with them, ” change representative Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “These problems ranged from weapon threats to ‘swatting. ’ ”
“Swatting ” refers to a hoax call made to police feigning an emergency, drawing a heavy police response and SWAT teams to the given location. The dangers were determined to get non-credible and may have just been launched on social media.
In a statement, the FBI claimed it “is conscious of several explosive hazards and swatting situations targeting incoming administration nominations and officials, and we are working with our law enforcement partners. We take all possible dangers significantly, and as always, encourage members of the public to promptly report whatever they consider cautious to law enforcement. ”

“President Trump and the whole Change staff are grateful for their swift motion, ” Leavitt said.
New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Trump’s choose to be U. N. Ambassador, and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, Trump’s first pick for Attorney General who withdrew from concern, both received challenges.
“This day, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her father, and their three year old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their home, ” read a declaration from Stefanick’s business.

We want to discuss our best intentions to the Upstate NY area for a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We are particularly grateful to our law enforcement officers and defense people who are on duty over the holiday season. ”
However, a bomb fleet arrived at Gaetz’s Florida home after an initial bomb-sniffing puppy from the Sheriff’s workplace was unable to decide whether bombs were present.
