Some of President-elect Donald Trump‘s receiving Cabinet contenders were targeted Tuesday night and Wednesday night with explosive threats or were swatted, according to Trump change representative Karoline Leavitt.
The nominees “were targeted in aggressive, unAmerican threats to their life and those who live with them, ” Leavitt said in a statement Wednesday night.

“These problems ranged from weapon threats to ‘swatting,’” she continued. “ In answer, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the whole Change staff are grateful for their sharp activity. ”
Leavitt did not list the names of the Cabinet nominees who were targeted and declined to give information on who was targeted when contacted by the Washington Examiner.
But, Punchbowl News reported that past Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who withdrew his candidacy for attorney general last year, “received a pipe bomb threat ” to his Florida house.
A bomb-sniffing dog was officially brought to his apartment, but Gaetz was no present at the time, although a family member was.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), House GOP Conference president and Trump’s receiving U. S. adviser to the U. N. , announced Wednesday that she too had been a sufferer of the targeting.

“This night, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her father, and their three year old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their home, ” Stefanik’s department said in a statement. “New York State, County law enforcement, and U. S. Capitol Police responded promptly with the highest rates of expertise. ”
Fox News even reported that Trump’s CIA candidate, John Ratcliffe, and defence minister candidate, Pete Hegseth, were among the officers targeted.
Past New York Rep. Lee Zeldin, then Trump’s candidate for Environmental Protection Agency executive, also acknowledged that he was the victim of a pipe bomb risk.
“A pipe bomb threat targeting me and my community at our home now was sent in with a pro-Palestinian themed information, ” Zeldin said in a statement. “My family and I were no home at the time and are protected. We are working with law enforcement to learn more as this condition develops. ”
Regional New York police announced that house owned by Howard Lutnick, the president-elect’s commerce secretary candidate, was the goal of a bomb threat.
“President Trump and the Changeover are focused on doing the work of uniting our society by ensuring a safe and prosperous future, ” Leavitt added. “With President Trump as our case, harmful acts of intimidation and crime does not deter us. ”
The FBI claimed it was conscious of the several threats against the Cabinet contenders in a speech.
“We are working with our law enforcement partners, ” the bureau said. “We taking all possible dangers really and, as often, encourage members of the public to immediately report whatever they consider cautious to law enforcement. ”

Trump himself survived two assassination attempt in the last month of the 2024 election. Two days before the start of the Republican National Convention, Trump reportedly raised his fist backstage at a Butler, Pennsylvania, protest after a would-be assassin’s shot grazed his ears.
In September, another death effort was thwarted as he was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida.
