DHAKA: Noting growing security worries, Bangladesh’s top business body strongly urged the interim state on Saturday to ensure the safety and security of all companies, including the ready-made garments ( RMG) industry, the region’s main export business.
They strongly condemned the brutal assault on Rafee Mahmud, deputy managing director of Mahmud Jeans Ltd, located in Kaliakair, Gazipur, by scoundrels disguised as employees.
In a joint declaration signed by garment and textile associations and industry chambers, the business organizations in the nation said,” The future of this region will be uncertain if the safety of its business is never ensured.”
According to them, this event will not only deter potential business owners, but it will also have a negative impact on potential international investors ‘ investment decisions.
They demanded that all responsible parties to this terrible action be brought to justice and that all necessary steps be taken to prevent future instances of these events.
They claimed that entrenched interests are attempting to destabilize the nation’s cloth business.
” These people must be identified and held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law.” They argued that additional abuse may be imposed to deter these behaviors.
