In a statement on transgender players in women’s sports, golf legend Martina Navratilova criticized” The New York Times” for its use of gender. When talking about hormone levels, the article addressed trans player Blaire Fleming’s forfeits in college volleyball as “non-transgender women.”
Navratilova took to social media platform X, expressing fury,’ NYT- you stink. We are people, no NOT TRANSGENDER WOMEN. Only WOMEN will do in the upcoming.’ In a follow-up post, she added,” According to @nytimes, women are a subset of males who identify as trans … Can’t make this crap up”.
Following the forfeiture of matches against San Jose State University by some Mountain West Conference school volleyball teams, including transgender person Blaire Fleming, The New York Times published an essay. Many teams believe that the decisions were made due to safety concerns relating to competing against transgender athletes, even though Fleming has n’t been officially identified as the cause.
Boise State, a different school, forfeited its championship semifinal against San Jose State, arguing that its players should n’t have to wait for a more thoughtful and effective system to serve all athletes. The success of the other final between Colorado State and San Diego State will face San Jose State.
Fleming has participated in various recent legal proceedings, including those involving charges of conspiring with a foe to harm a partner. San Jose State has advanced to the conference championship game despite forfeiting six of its regular-season activities. The Mountain West Conference presented Fleming with a playoffs trophy. Teammates sued the manager, school, and convention, seeking Fleming’s disqualification for the event. San Jose State’s manager, Melissa Batie-Smoose, alleges the class tried to ‘ quietness’ her after she was suspended following concerns about Fleming.
Female athletes are also bringing a class-action lawsuit against the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA ), alleging that the laws prohibit sex-based discrimination. A judge turned down Fleming’s request to be prohibited from the meeting and possible NCAA tournament games.
Imane Khelif, an Algerian boxer who was accused of being biologically male, was even brought up in Navratilova’s opinion of the Olympic gold medal event. Khelif is described as” a biological male” with male characteristics in a leaked medical report released in the German tabloid Bild. The study’s validity is unconfirmed.
Imane may have been raised as a person, but Imane is a natural men, according to Navratilova, who also names critics JK Rowling and Elon Musk. Navratilova responded to this on X, asking,” ]Is ] Imane still suing JK Rowling? Good fortune with that complaint”.
