Mark Hamill, an American actor, compared Donald Trump‘s win to the Pearl Harbor attack, sparking discussion on social media platform X.
In a post on the Bluesky social media app, Hamill, who is best known for playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, refers to vote time as” A Day That Will Live In Infamy.”
The word, which former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt famously used to describe the US joining World War II in 1941, sparked a lot of debate.
Netizens on X criticised the 73-year-old comedian for drawing for a comparison.
One person said,” Mark has allowed the shadows to take his soul”. Another commented,” Mark’s not a huge fan of democracy”.
A second person added,” At last he found a place where he can force his nonsense without getting any response.” The comments came after a blog on Libs of Bluesky, which shared Hamill’s unique article on X.
Another X people responded with a mix of emotions, including teasing and condemnation.
Hamill has publicly supported Democratic prospects. He endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency in July, saying,” I want to give my full help and, as a bonus, my support for Kamala to be the candidate of our party this season- @JoeBiden. Vote for the candidate who will both recognize &, more his tradition: @KamalaHarris. # Hamill Hearts Harris”.
Hamill likewise visited the White House in May and praised President Biden’s efforts. During the attend, Hamill recounted a humorous exchange with the President:” Well, you know, I called him Mr. President. He said,’ You may visit me Joe.’ And I said,’ You I call you Joe B. Wan Kenobi?’ He liked that”, amusingly making a puns on Star Wars and its figures.
Following a shooting test on the president-elect during a rally in Pennsylvania over the summers, the actor faced backlash for mocking his appearance at the Republican National Convention. He tweeted,” 1st APPEARANCE of ridiculously large ear bandage, evidently not needed due to tonight”
