This Christmas, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be visiting Sandringham with the British royal family, which will further strained ties between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Tudors.
According to The Mirror, the pair was left off the visitor list for the holiday meeting, a historic imperial history. Harry and Meghan next celebrated Christmas with the imperial family in 2018, shortly after their wedding.
This rejection comes in handy after they were left out of other major royal celebrations earlier this year, such as King Charles II I’s established birthday party, Trooping the Color. Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, the imperial pair has apparently spent the majority of their vacations in the US.
Connection strains continue
As reported by Vanity Fair, ties between Prince Harry and the royal family remain uncomfortable, especially with his parents, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William. Harry reportedly made an effort to talk with the King about his ongoing surveillance dispute, but sources close to the palace claim that King Charles ‘ assertion about controlling his father’s security is “wholly incorrect.”
Adding to the stress, Harry’s calls and mails to the King have reportedly gone unanswered in recent months. A buddy of Harry told Individuals,” He gets’ accessible right then.’ He has tried to reach out about the King’s wellness, but those calls go unanswered to”.
Earlier this year, the King and Harry recently reunited following Charles ‘ cancer treatment in February, sparking hope of healing. However, those desires were short-lived, and conversation has since deteriorated more.
While Harry and Meghan remain unavailable, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children are expected to attend the Christmas festivities at Sandringham. The host list for the meeting has not yet been formally released by Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace.
This year’s royal holidays mark another book in a series of recognised estrangements.
Since making their move to California in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have distanced themselves from the home, according to Vanity Fair. Their subsequent disclosures, including a high-profile meeting with Oprah Winfrey, have deepened the break.
Prince Harry’s mom, Princess Diana, had likewise described Christmas at Sandringham as challenging. In her biography by Andrew Morton, she referred to the holiday gatherings as “terrifying and so disappointing”, marked by tension and insider jokes she did n’t understand.
