President-elect Donald Trump’s FBI director candidate, Kash Patel, was the goal of an Egyptian hackers work.
As the FBI Director, Trump change official Alex Pfeiffer said in a statement that” Kash Patel was a key component of the first Trump government’s efforts against the criminal Egyptian plan.”
The Washington Examiner reached out to Trump’s staff for additional comment.
Tehran grew enraged by Trump’s death of the well-known Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps head Qassem Soleimani in January 2020, which has since been followed by a series of asymmetrical attacks on the president-elect and his team. In retaliation for the killing, the Egyptian government has publicly threatened to kill him.
In August, Trump’s plan fell victim to foreign thieves, with intelligence agencies saying Iranian hackers gained access to the administration’s internal communications. Additional than Patel, it’s not known whether the most recent phishing activity targeted anyone else.
