President-elect Donald Trump has made some remarkable picks to help bring out his America First plan, like Kash Patel for FBI producer, Pete Hegseth for defence minister, and Tom Homan as “border czar”. But his pick for Drug Enforcement Agency ( DEA ) administrator, Chad Chronister, doesn’t belong anywhere near a position of power.
Chronister now serves as judge in Hillsborough County, Florida, and Trump says Chronister did work to” protected the Border, stop the flow of Fentanyl, and another Unlawful Drugs, across the Southern Border, and SAVE LIVES”.
But certainly Trump could’ve chosen a member who didn’t put a Christian priest in jail, launch criminals, or harm the unvaccinated.
Under Chronister’s authority, Tampa Bay Pastor Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested for *checks notes* holding a church services. People were told to stay in their homes unless they engaged in “essential service,” which did not contain attending church.
Howard-Browne defied the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s draconian quarantine orders and was immediately detained for two second-degree offenses for unlawful assembly and infringing on public health emergency laws. According to Chronster, Howard-Browne’s “reckless disregard for human life” put hundreds of people in his church in danger and thousands of people who might interact with them this year in danger.
Charges were later dropped against Howard-Browne, and Howard-Browne also endorsed Chronister’s election. However, the harm had already been done. While keeping a lid on real dangers to public safety, Chronster was very anxious to imprison a pastor for exercising his legal right to worship.
Chronister enable over 160 “low-level, non-violent” crooks out of prison to “protect” individuals from Covid-19. Within a quarter of being released, 15 of them had been arrested again on fresh charges, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
As if that weren’t much, Chronister reverted to authoritarianism during the pandemic, publicly vowing to use taxpayer-funded resources to discriminate against uninsured people!
The king, or rather, Chronister, threatened people with” I put out a plan a while ago that you have to use your own accrued time if you are unvaccinated and you have to lockdown or you get ill.” The sheriff’s department will protect your time off if you are vaccinated and become ill.
Additionally, Chronister refrained from taking severely the provincial immigration legislation, Senate Bill 1718, which aims to stop illegal immigration by enforcing penalties for those who travel illegals and for employers who employ illegal immigrants.
Chronister eluded social media and gushed about Hillsborough County’s “rich richness” and expressed his desire to “promote strong partnerships with all people regardless of background. He said that his company did not “target people based on their immigration position” since, according to Chronister, immigration protection is the task of “federal agencies”.
Trump needs a president who places a premium on protecting the country’s health and protecting its constitutional rights, not one who will give up one or both for the sake of his electorates. The DEA may be led by someone who has the perseverance to do what’s right whenever necessary, even if it’s unhappy, and Chronister has shown he’d rather do what’s politically expedient at a time when the country is facing real throughs from an open borders and illegal drugs and crime.
