A Tesla slammed into a stone wall and caught fire in Pelham Manor, New York’s border, killing two people on Tuesday morning. According to the New York Post, the vehicles struck the barrier at around 9.15 am, and it struck the crossing.
After firefighters extinguished the flames, Pelham Manor Fire Chief Michael Greco confirmed the incidents of the vehicle and customer. The victims ‘ identities have not been made public.
Around 20 hours were needed to extinguish the fire, but rescuers spent several hours searching the area for body and nearby lithium-ion batteries.
According to Greco,” We heard popping and we saw that it was a Tesla, so we knew the power was compromised and even involved in the fire,” adding that the damaged cell assisted in containing the flames.
The Tesla veered off into the rocks before colliding with the images from a local service station. The vehicle was left a mutilated disaster.
