Indian-American attorney Kash Patel, who was chosen by US President-elect Donald Trump to guide the FBI, was recently informed by the commission that he was the target of an Egyptian hacking operation, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, CNN. Hackers good gained admittance to some of Patel’s connections.
Alex Pfeiffer, Trump’s transition official, declined to comment particularly on the steal and said,” Kash Patel was a key part of the first Trump administration’s work against the criminal Iranian government and will utilize President Trump’s laws to protect America from enemies as the FBI Director”.
In his new position, Patel is expected to continue placing a high priority on national security in addition to his important contribution to Trump’s policies on Iran.
This development comes in response to several other instances of international hackers attempting to hack into Trump associates. Todd Blanche, the FBI’s deputy attorney general and Trump lawyer, was recently informed that his phone had been hacked by Chinese thieves. Apparently, Egyptian thieves targeted Trump lawyer Lindsey Halligan in August. Donald Trump Jr. claims that the FBI informed him that Iran was targeting him most frequently.
Iran has targeted users of Trump’s first leadership and eluded the release of sensitive information from his political campaign to people connected to Joe Biden‘s strategy this summer. In June, Egyptian thieves accessed Roger Stone’s email accounts and attempted to breach a senior Trump campaign diplomat’s message. Iran refutes US accusations of poll involvement.
Since last year, tensions have been strained between America and Iran, fueled by the US’s support and Israel’s military support. The continuing fight involving Israel, Iran, and Gaza has more strained relations. While both factors have discussed compromise contracts, deaths remain high.
