Bangladesh’s interim government captain, Muhammad Yunus, has urged national unity in the face of what he described as a coordinated” strategy” by “big places” to undermine the legitimacy of the uprising that brought his presidency to energy.
Yunus addressed escalating tensions, especially with India, while speaking on Wednesday to members of political parties. He avoided mentioning any particular nation.
Without immediately naming India, Yunus referred to “big nations” reportedly involved in spreading misinformation about the new government.
” Many are not liking our freedom, the ( new ) independence, desperate efforts are being made to upset it”, Yunus told leaders representing several political parties, including ex-prime minister Khaleda Zia’s BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and left-leaning groups.
In addition to the allegations of minority harassment in the country, Yunus sought the political leaders ‘ opinions on three pressing problems: reported propaganda against Bangladesh in India and different parts of the world, an assault on the Bangladeshi objective in Agartala, and allegations of minority oppression within the nation.
Yunus criticized what he called attempts to portray the July-August revolt that led to the expelling of Sheikh Hasina as prime minister as a destabilizing function. He claimed that the “quarters who did not like the revolt are trying to portray it as something dangerous both domestically and internationally.”
In remarks made in remarks made in film that his office made, Yunus demanded that people take steps to refute the narrative. We must declare our identity to the universe as a whole. We achieved this up. This has now become a matter of our existence”, he said.
The time leader’s remarks came as a result of disturbed ties with India, which have become even more strained as a result of recent attacks on the Bangladeshi objective in Agartala and allegations of violence against minorities.
