As the mind of California’s fairness office, Rob Bonta is the face of the state’s constitutional opposition, which may contain expensive lawsuits, to Trump’s immigration agenda ahead of his second term. &nbsp,

” I want to stress that the California DOJ is here to protect refugees ‘ health, immigrants ‘ rights, and immigrants ‘ right”, Bonta said during a recent press conference. ” Let me get obvious: President-elect Trump’s immigration plan is harsh and his speech, racist. You can be sure that as California Attorney General, if Trump attacks the rights of our immigrants, I will be there” .&nbsp,

Since 2021, Bonta has been the state attorney general of California and has spent more than 20 years in the field. Boonta is a significant number in the administration. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA ) plans to” Trump-proof” California.

We need employees at these crucial locations to defend the rights of California’s immigrants, according to Bonta, and our business will continue to use all power of the legislation and every resource at our disposal. We can’t allow the Trump repatriation apparatus to lead to a culture of fear and mistrust that prevents people from using essential public services.

California has the highest proportion of unlawful immigrants of any position in the nation. According to a new study from the Pew Research Center, California has 1.8 million noncitizens in its population. The state’s democratic politicians who are opposed to Bonta and Newsom have claimed the figure is substantially higher. &nbsp,

” Under Gavin, he brings a pole why to occur. &nbsp, He’ll offer them free health care. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy criticized California Democrats for causing the state to have a projected$ 30 billion budget deficit by 2027, saying,” I mean, he denies California citizens certain things, but not those who come illegally.” &nbsp,

” That’s why we attract so numerous, and it’s costing a great deal. We have a huge imbalance in California”, McCarthy added. &nbsp,

While McCarthy said illegal immigrants are costing California precious resources, Bonta argued Trump’s plan to remove undocumented citizens is “fiscally irresponsible” .&nbsp,

The president-elect’s intention to second deport illegal immigrants who have committed crimes and are currently imprisoned in the United States, then millions of other people who have been in the country illegally, has no apparent price tag. &nbsp,

Deporting improper newcomers, as suggested by Republican-controlled says like Utah, could save money over time. Utah prison in the country improperly cost the state$ 16 million a month. Removing them from the land would signify a” cost benefits” to Utah, Gov. Spencer Cox (R-UT) told the Deseret News. &nbsp,

In the United States in July, Immigration and Customs Enforcement estimated that there were 660, 000 noncitizens with criminal narratives. Trump’s fresh “border czar”, Tom Homan, has said there are more than 1.5 million for individuals in the country. Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA ) has estimated there are as many as 4 million illegal immigrants in the U. S. who have committed violent crimes. &nbsp,

Whatever the figure may be, California is actively working to oppose Trump’s immigration reform programs.

” In California, we believe our people tools, like libraries, hospitals, courts and universities should be accessible for all without fear of civil immigration police”, Bonta said. The model policies we’re issuing to public facilities “provide policy recommendations that may lessen the impact of immigration enforcement actions at public institutions.”

In a state where the vote-increase shifted to the right in the 2024 elections, McCarthy characterized Bonta’s action as an attempt to sabotage the will of the electorate. &nbsp,

” What you’re seeing from this attorney general, he wants to be the Democrat political player, and he wants to make a name for himself, so instantly, he starts to attack a president who hasn’t been sworn in yet on policies that the American public has actually voted for”, McCarthy said, pointing to Lake County’s trend toward Trump, an area he said “hasn’t voted for a Republican since 1984, since Ronald Reagan’s big wave”. &nbsp,

” I think these attorneys general should take a deep breath, listen to what the people in the country said, and realize that Donald Trump won,” McCarthy said. &nbsp,” Republican and and Democrat too”.
