According to data obtained through a Freedom of Information Act demand, the Department of Homeland Security hired 13 members from a prominent, exclusive law firm to justify Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during earlier this year’s House and Senate impeachment hearings.
The DHS spent$ 1, 625, 815.26 in federal tax income on more than a few private attorneys and staff at Debevoise and Plimpton, a self-described “premiere” international law firm, according to internal emails obtained through the traditional Heritage Foundation think ship’s monitoring project.
Mayorkas hired a posh law firm to represent himself in his impeachment, according to Mike Howell, senior director of the Heritage Foundation, in a statement released on Friday. These records demonstrate how complex his government was in reality, with all the money being spent on it by the people who he had ordered invaded.
The report named only one of the 13: consultant Carter Burwell, a former leading lawyer on the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee. The other 12 team hired include associates, a top data protection expert, a companion, a head of global information security, and a top litigation case manager.
Mayorkas was vehemently impeached by House Republicans in February. Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA )  , brought , the impeachment charges against Mayorkas, which were drawn up by the House Homeland Security Committee. On two matters, Mayorkas was impeached: his deliberate and systemic refusal to follow the rules and his management of the border crisis in violation of the public’s trust.
The innovative records obtained by the Washington-based Heritage Foundation reveal the personnel at Debevoise and Plimpton. The traditional think tank recently revealed in March that the outside agency had been hired.
By using outside legal counsel during the House impeachment trials, Mayorkas and the DHS did not break any rules. The Democrat-controlled Senate decided not to keep a trial. However, Mayorkas was calling for money for the hiring of more Border Patrol agents as the use of taxpayer dollars for the picture came about.

” Starting Jan. 20, he’s not going to be able to hide behind that weapon no more”, Howell said.  ,” Americans deserve real accountability for the deliberate destruction he inflicted”.
