After Border Patrol released a suspected criminal from South Africa into the region following his new illegal entry from Mexico, federal law enforcement has made him a suspect.

After allowing him to stay in the United States following his unlawful access into Texas, the Border Patrol revealed on Tuesday evening that police had rearrested an unknown man in the Brooklyn of New York after it had allowed him to remain there.

” Smashing: A multi-agency work led to the arrest of a South African national and suspected criminal in Brooklyn, NY. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens wrote in a Tuesday evening X post that the person was initially detained in Texas for legal trespass and that based on information at the time, they were released.

A further research later revealed a good match on the terrorist waitlist, which prompted the National Targeting Center to take immediate action, according to Owens in the post. ” Thanks to the cooperation of many companies, this possible danger was located, taken into custody, and is now pending removal”.

Under the Biden administration, national statistics shows a rise in the number of known or suspected jihadists who have crossed the border into the United States from Mexico between ports of entry.

Terrorist detention decreased annually to a single digits in the years leading up to Biden, including a 0 % in 2019.

103 people on the criminal see record were apprehended by Border Patrol in governmental 2024, which ended in September of this year.

The Biden administration has argued that Border Patrol identifies and vets people who enter detention, but in this instance, the agency didn’t receive a collection check until the person was released from custody and allowed to remain in the country until his emigration court date.

Before the FBI search results were released, Owens did not explain why the person had been released.
