Herschel Walker was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump for the position of U.S. adviser to the Bahamas during his second term in office.
” During my First Term, he served as Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition”, Trump continued. Herschel has visited more than 400 military deployments all over the world to break the silence that surrounds psychological illness. He made up the U.S. bobsled team at the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Trump and Walker have a history dating back to the 1980s when Walker second gained notoriety as an NFL player. It wasn’t until later in Walker’s life that he made the transition from athletics to politicians. He won the coveted Heisman Trophy in 1982.
After serving as a co-chairman on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition during Trump’s second word, Walker ran for Senate in Georgia in 2022.
Despite Trump’s endorsement, Walker failed to oust incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA ) two years ago. Following a plan plagued with discussion, the former NFL player lost the election 51.4%-48.6 %.
