During the majority of President Joe Biden’s term in office, fuel prices have been a contentious social issue. Biden assured the country that gas prices would drop after reaching report federal rates. Years after, near the end of his term, that promise has suddenly come to fruition. However, despite this year’s significant increases in fuel prices, fuel costs remain higher now than when President-elect Donald Trump was in office between January 2017 and January 2021.
Meanwhile, gas prices continue to fluctuate throughout the country, with average prices in some states near$ 2.50 per gallon and over$ 4.50 in others. Hawaii has the highest average rate for a gallon of gasoline, at$ 4.549. Oklahoma has the cheapest gas prices in the country, at$ 2.583 per gallon.
