A congressional hearing on Wednesday was held by Republicans trying to resurrect a bill to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances ( FACE ) Act, which highlighted how the Department of Justice ( DOJ) has used it to foment conflict between pro-lifers.
Some pro-life activists will spend Christmas in federal prisons because they happily prayed or dimly obliterated abortion mills across the nation. Since the start of the Biden Harris management, Roy said in his opening speech, through May 2024, the DOJ has brought a total of 24 FACE Act cases against 55 plaintiffs, with just two of those circumstances related to problems on pregnancy resource centers. Roy said in his opening speech.
” To this day, the FACE Act has never been used in defence of the temple since it was passed”, Roy said. ” And when the DOJ does sue pro-abortion activists, the zeal with which they pursued and punished these people pales in comparison to the fines faced by pro-life activists.”
Paul Vaughn, a Tennessee gentleman who was at the 2021 incident Hunt mentioned, was arrested by the FBI at gun, in his house, 17 months later. He is currently under house arrest for the event, but individuals involved are currently serving prison sentences.  ,
As I previously reported for The Federalist, for Vaughn to speak at the hearing, he had to employ an lawyer and get the consent of his probation officer, the judge, and four persons within the DOJ.
” There’s a lot of talk about crime around the issue of abortion. All people of recognition and character, of course, denounce assault on either side of this issue, but Vaughn claimed in his testimony that the narrative was biased against pro-lifers and that at least three different forms of violence are being taken into account. Every pregnancy results in crime against every unborn baby. Our personal federal commits violence against pro-lifers as well as by aggravated parents or other members of the family of abandoned children. These three details must be included in any serious talk about crime going forward. Although the FACE Act was purportedly passed because of violence, my home is well aware that all they did was give assault the protection of the law and put it in the hands of the government.
The FACE Act may be repealed, according to senior lawyers at Thomas More Society Steve Crampton, who represented Vaughn in jury. It is an illegal law and an unwanted national overreach into a problem best left to the states.

Liberals are hardly, however, interested in removing the FACE Act.
Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Penn., said,” We continue to discover our GOP colleagues ignoring details and pushing a false narrative of selective protection in order to form a justification for repealing the FACE Act. No one deserves to be denied health care because of someone else’s political or religious ideas,” she said.
Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N. Y., said powerful enforcement of FACE is needed more now than ever.  ,
” As we stand on the day of the next Trump leadership, today’s reading, the last for the Judiciary Committee of the 118th Congress, can only be interpreted as a communication from House Republicans to these extraordinary anti-abortion protesters”, Nadler said. Republicans will use the 119th Congress to throw still another brick in the framework for the Trump government’s plans to employ complete Republican control of the federal government to prevent women from getting the sexual health care they need, all while working as they try to pass a complete nationwide ban on abortion. In the face of this atrocity, House Democrats will not remain silent. We will do everything in our power to support the right to an abortion and oppose Republican attempts to pass a nationwide proportion ban.
In campaign events, Democrats used the fabled “nationwide abortion ban” as a scare tactic. Republicans have not pushed for such a ban.
