University says there is” no link” to the November attack on the home of GMU pro-Palestinian student leaders.
A rookie at George Mason University is being held in federal prison after the FBI alleged that he planned a “mass fatality attack” on the Jewish consulate in New York.
The student, Abdullah Ezzeldin Taha Mohamed Hassan ( pictured ), 18, faces a number of federal charges and is being deported back to his home country of Egypt, CNN reports.
The student was no residing on school, but he was not permitted to use the university’s property, according to Virginia institution President Gregory Washington in a statement released on Thursday.
Campus leaders in Washington said they learned of Hassan’s imprisonment on Tuesday and intend to prosecute him for violating his code of conduct.
” … so far] Hassan ] appears to have no connection to an earlier police action involving two George Mason students whose home was searched in November”, he stated.
During the November attack, authorities said they found weapon, weapons, and a “death to Jews” mark in the home of Jena and Noor Chanaa, aunts who help direct the school’s Students for Justice in Palestine party, The College Fix reported at the time.

A Cornell University student who admitted to threatening to shoot Jewish students was given a 21-month prison sentence earlier this year, according to The Fix.
