The grieving families of US Marines killed in the Kabul attack have been vocal critics of US President Joe Biden. The people allege that they were constrained to wait for hours while the President napped on Air Force One.
In a destructive strike at Kabul’s Abbey Gate on August 26th, during the tumultuous last days of the American withdrawal from Afghanistan, 13 American troops and more than 170 Afghans were killed.
The people were anticipating the “dignified exchange” meeting at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were scheduled to deliver the soldiers ‘ boxes. However, family claim that they had to wait an additional three hours before having their loved ones ‘ systems returned.
Additionally, they allege that President Biden was sleeping on the aircraft all the way through the New York Post, instead of greeting them.
Roice McCollum, the nephew of Rylee McCollum’s victim, claimed a military official informed her of the President’s sleep and that Biden’s decision to sleep was an affront to the memory of their lost loved ones.
Because he weren’t piece it up, he made us waited an extra three days to get the body of our deceased family members, McCollum told the Daily Mail.
This bill was confirmed by different people, including Darin Hoover, the father of workers commander Taylor Hoover, and Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Aquatic commander Nicole Gee. In the Kabul strike, both soldiers were killed, according to reports.
Hoover expressed his frustration, saying,” We sat in that company for what seemed like an eternity waiting on the wizened old fool”.
The commonly decried US withdrawal from Afghanistan, which marked a turning point in Biden’s president, had previously sparked outrage among military families, especially after video emerged showing the President checking his watch during the respectable transport service at Dover.
Despite the reaction, White House supporters and a director have denied the says, insisting that the reviews of Biden’s sleep were misleading and never happened.
” That state is misleading. These 13 Americans, and the many more that were wounded, were republicans in the highest sense, according to President Biden, on the fourth anniversary of the dreadful attack on Abbey Gate and in the letters he wrote to community members after meeting with them in Dover.” We owe them and their communities a sacred debt we will never be able to fully recover, but will never cease to work, ‘” a White House official said.
But, for the people of the fallen, the tragedy has added to their pain, leaving some feeling their loved ones ‘ surrender was not properly honoured.
