They called him “racist” for some of his early immigration speech,” Antisemitic” for his enacted Muslim restrictions during his first president, and largely voted to oust him twice.
Still, Trump won the presidency afterwards. Therefore, they may try to work with him whether it be for the better or the worse to accomplish goals.
In the coming four times, here are some of the Democrats who appear to be interested in working with Trump.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA )
Von all Democrats, Fetterman has the potential to collaborate with Trump. He soon joined Truth Social following Trump’s election and has said the president-elect may be pardoned for his “bull-s***” hush-money event.
He’s met with Trump Cabinet contenders Pete Hegseth, Elise Stefanik, and Tulsi Gabbard and said he’s really “doing my work” in response to discussion surrounding his willingness to work with Trump’s contenders. ” Those people can vent or talk on Twitter, but I’m here to have discussions, and I think I’m only doing my job“, he said.
He has previously indicated that he is supporting Stefanik’s appointment as Trump’s ambassador to the UN, even though Democrats are likely to cast ballots against her.
Republican winning his position for the first time since 2016 is likely to account for Fetterman’s decisions. With red-state officials like Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT ), Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), and Joe Manchin (I-WV ) on the way out, Fetterman could stand out as another independent mind in the Senate.
Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL )
Moskowitz has always been viewed as a nonpartisan Democrat who has veered more toward Republicans in regards to fiscal policy and Israel. However, his announcement to join the DOGE Caucus suggests that he is willing to collaborate attentively with Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk as Trump surrogates.
” On some troubles I’m liberal. On other issues I’m liberal, and I think that’s how most of my electorate are”, Moskowitz told , NPR. ” We take it concern by problem”.
Although Moskowitz later stated that he is looking “forward to that talk,” many of the suggestions the Expand co-chairs make do not. He intends to introduce legislation that would eliminate FEMA and the Secret Service from the Department of Homeland Security. He claims that FEMA is very significant to be a part of DHS, and that the Secret Service really report immediately to the White House along with them.
Moskowitz has also spoken fondly of Trump cabinet nominees Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR ) and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.” Congrats to my# SneakerCaucus co-chair @LChavezDeRemer“, he posted on X.
As for Kennedy, he remarked that he’d help a program from him to make all Coke” Mexican Coke”, only using wood honey for syrup.
Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY )
Hochul is one of the few state-level Liberals who has been open to the idea of Trump collaborating with her to improve New York. After Trump won the election, she spoke with him.
” There are places where we can work together, like system where we rely on federal funds, and he seems to promote my interests, but also I’m going to stand up for protecting freedom, reproductive freedom, and other right”, she said at a news event.
Her position is different from that of Governor. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA ), who has geared up his state to resist the Trump administration with expected legal battles over immigration. Trump hasn’t had the same reaction to that matter, with Hochul recently claiming she would be the” second one” to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement if illegal immigrants violate the law.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA )
Warren, who Trump after repeatedly labeled” Virginia” for her reported Native American lineage, is an unlikely ally of the president-elect. However, Warren and other Democrats have already pledged to work with Trump on a pressing matter: credit cards interest rates.
Before the election, Trump declared that he would support a 10 % interest rate cap.
Warren told Politico,” President Trump made it known during his plan that he intended to place a 10 percent interest rate seal on consumer credit.” ” Take it on”.
She added,” If he refuses to follow through on the campaign promises that would help working people, then he should be held responsible”.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT )
Smith, like Warren, even pledged to work with Trump on credit cards.
” If Trump wants to establish a credit card limit on involvement charges, I’ll be it”, Sanders said. ” If he comes up with sensible thoughts, yes, I would be interested in working with him”.
However, the Vermont senator has also indicated his support for Trump’s objective elsewhere.
Elon Musk, Trump’s DOGE co-chairman, blasted the Pentagon in a November op-ed along with his co-chairman, Vivek Ramaswamy, for failing its eighth consecutive assessment. Smith agrees that the Pentagon’s resources may be tracked and possibly trimmed.
” Elon Musk is best. The Pentagon, with a budget of$ 886 billion, simply failed its 7th inspection in a row. It’s lost record of billion. Only 13 lawmakers cast ballots last year against the Martial Industrial Complex and a waste and fraud-filled security budget,” Sanders said. ” That had change”.

Additionally, Musk and Sanders both concur that the cost of weight-loss medications like Ozempic may become lower. The owner of Tesla thinks it could lower medical costs.
” Solving obesity significantly reduces risk of various diseases, particularly insulin, and improves quality of life. We need to find a way to generate appetite-inhibitors accessible to anyone who wants them, he said.
