President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday tapped Stephen Feinberg, a tycoon follower with ties to the military contracting market, for the position of deputy director of army. The statement, made on Trump’s social media platform, follows information that the offer was extended to Feinberg sooner in December.
Feinberg is the co-CEO of Cerberus Capital Management, an investment firm with ties to the development of hypersonic missiles. She was also the original owner of DynCorp, a private military company that Amentum purchased in 2020.
During Trump’s initial name, Feinberg chaired the mayor’s Intelligence Advisory Board, which advises the president on knowledge and intelligence matters. Feinberg was described as” an extremely successful businessman” who would contribute to” Making the Pentagon Great Again” by Trump.
The lieutenant defense secretary’s job entails overseeing the day-to-day functions of the defense office, a sizable group of more than three million military and civilian employees. The session carries heightened importance amid disputes over Trump’s candidate for defence minister, Pete Hegseth, a previous Fox News contributor who has faced discussion.
Hegseth’s previous allegations include one of physical abuse committed by a lady in 2017 after he allegedly raped her at a California Republican children’s event. While no charges were filed after a policeman and attorney review, Hegseth’s lawyer stated the meeting was consensual and described the person as the initiator, adding that Hegseth had been “visibly intoxicated” at the time.
Trump even nominated more defence-related sessions on Sunday. Elbridge A. Colby, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense known for his aggressive attitude on China and his support for Taiwan’s defense in probable conflicts, was chosen as secretary for policy, according to him. Former White House Medical Unit leader under both the Obama and Trump services, Keith Bass was chosen as the choice for assistant secretary of defense for health matters.
