The Federal Aviation Administration authorized the Holiday Drone Show at Lake Eola on Saturday and regulates robots and light displays. According to director Kristen Alsop, they are now looking into the incident, which they claim began as robots collided and fell into the group at the park.
Every drone-show app is carefully reviewed to ensure the safety of the flying public and those on the ground, according to Alsop.
The FAA reviews multiple procedures from the technician including: healthy set-up, safe range from the show, and processes in the event a single or multiple robots fail, Aslop said. She added that the FAA checks the drone’s program and whether the controller has enough people running the show.
Witness videos on social media show numerous red and green robots ejecting from the clouds. In one , videos posted to X, previously Online, person MosquitoCoFL Podcast , showed robots falling as Lake Eola’s popular birds rapidly flapped their wings and immediately moved away.
According to city officials, Edgerton and her child are in the hospital and that the Orlando Police Department will assist in obtaining evidence for the FAA analysis.
