Julian Zapeta-Calil, a Guatemalan immigrant accused of setting a sleeping person on fire and passively watching as she burned, has been identified as the alleged suspect.
Eventually, the suspect claimed he was drunk at the time and that he had no recollection of the invasion.
allegedly shows Zapeta-Calil holding his hands in his sweatshirt pocket as embers engulf the prey in surveillance images from MTA cameras in the mostly empty F teach carriage. The lady, who appeared to concentrate on a walker for freedom, was seated at the time of the invasion. The walker can be seen clearly in the disturbing images.
As the flames spread to the top of the train vehicles, Zapeta-Calil appears to be trying to fan the flames with a T-shirt or similar product.
Authorities apprehended Zapeta-Calil shortly after taking another train station, where they apparently discovered a lighter in his hands. Police sources told The New York Post that the suspect admitted to being drunken and that he had no memory of setting the person on fire, despite the still-unknown goal for the assault.
Donald Trump, the newly elected US leader, also addressed the Biden administration on his social media platform X.
” Amelia Carter, 29 times, burned alive in the NY rail by an improper from Guatemala. The policeman did everything. The Biden’s America doesn’t like her image to be shared because they are accountable for uncontrolled immigration. New York City has been excellent”.
In a split post, he even demaned a dying sentence for the suspect.
Amelia Carter, 29, was the victim of the train strike, according to widely circulated social media posts. Police have not yet established the defendant’s personality, but they have stated that efforts are still being made to identify her.
A photograph purporting to show Amelia Carter went viral on X ( formerly Twitter ), prompting further speculation. Some users reported that X’s Chatbot, Grok, claimed the defendant’s name was Amelia Carter, adding to the confusion. The fact that the pictures in question was AI-generated, as per the community notes that came with the popular posts, cast doubts about its integrity.
