Three people were thrown into the water on Monday when a part of the Santa Cruz Wharf in the US state of California collapsed into the sea as a result of heavy sea and strong waves. Two were rescued by rescuers, and one made it to security on their own, according to the Santa Cruz fire department.
Around 12:45 p.m. local time, the incident broke off and floated away from the wharf’s close, which included a room building and construction products used to repair storm damage. The port has been evacuated and closed continuously, according to Santa Cruz gardens &, local authorities.
According to a KRON 4 record from Santa Cruz fire department officers, all three individuals who fell into the water received treatment and were released.
Governor of California informed about the decline
California governor Gavin Newsom’s department said he was briefed on the decline. The California governor’s company of emergency service is coordinating the evacuation procedure with local authorities and officers.

Cutbacks in Santa Cruz County
Additionally, large sea and flooding caused closures and evacuations in other parts of Santa Cruz County. Due to flooding, East Cliff Drive has been rerouted between 26th Avenue and Palisades Avenue. Due to high search and flood, Capitola Village has also been closed, and locals were advised to leave or find shelter. Driving through flooded areas was advised by the California bridge guard.
Public health update issued
The Central Coast is expected to experience waves that can reach up to 26 foot as a result of the decline. The rise is anticipated to last through Tuesday.
Authorities issued a public health alert urging people to stay away from beaches and coastal areas due to unsafe conditions:” According to lethal conditions, kindly avert all beaches including southern overlook areas such as rocks, jetties, or cliffs”. The notice cautioned against crossing flooded roadways along the beach or entering the water.
By getting in or getting too close to the water, you risk risking your life, as well as those of the people who would need to try to protect you.
